About us

We love Barbados

Shasa, meaning ‘Precious Waters’, is a stunning 30 foot catamaran who can comfortably carry up to 12 guests. She is owned and captained by Jason O’Neal, who has over fifteen years of sailing experience.

Once on board, you’ll be supplied with masks, snorkels and flotation devices, and for those less confident in the water, snorkelling instruction is available from Captain Jason or a member of the Shasa crew.

The experience started with Elroy the cab driver who picked us up at the condo and answered our questions and kindly shared his knowledge of the Island, we then boarded on the catamaran. Jason(The Captain) and his wife Alex, were simply great to be around. We first saw the turtles under the water and we next went to the coral reef area and fed the fish. Jason found spots that were not crowded which made the snorkeling experience easy and fun. We were able to get photos from underwater sent to our email free of charge. In between, complementary water, juice, and drinks were available for the entire trip, the rum punch was great! Even my mother who did not go snorkeling enjoyed her trip. It was very affordable with transportation to and from the location. Our cab driver Wayne who returned us to our condo was also great! I highly recommend using them, and if your reading this, we had a great time guys. Thanks!

This was our 2nd time with Jason on Shasa. The entire booking process was easy, all done on-line. We were met at the cruise dock & driven to the beach where Jason & Alex were ready with the catamaran. This time we motored, rather than sailed, to the snorkel area where the turtles "hang out" so we beat any crowds. There were only 6 of us, so it was easy to see the turtles & the water was not cloudy from too many people jumping in. Next we went to a reef area with coral & fish. Jason had snorkel gear along with noodles & vests for those who wanted to use them. Complimentary water, beer, rum punch, etc. were available the entire time. We had a peaceful sail back to the beach where the van was waiting to take us back to the ship. This was very relaxing, peaceful & serene...no blasting music, just conversation & a few areas of interest pointed out. When we returned home we had photos of our underwater adventure waiting in our e-mail (no charge). I would highly recommend this, especially if you're on a cruise ship. The price is reasonable & the total time is about 4 1/2 hours.

I chartered Shasa for three hours with Jason and his wife Alex on my most recent visit to Barbados and thought their service was faultless!

Easy booking process and happy to answer queries, very accommodating and the charter itself was seamless. Jason picked us up from Port St Charles for a cruise down the coast, followed by snorkelling and a few rum punches, then back to Port St Charles whilst the sun was setting. Very enjoyable and relaxing.

I can't recommend it highly enough!

We so enjoyed the intimate experience offered by Shasa on our first visit to Barbados that we made a point of scheduling another trip with Jason and his wife Alex on our recent return visit. The small group allows for individual assistance if needed while snorkeling and assures a far more pleasant and memorable experience than the larger operations prowling the area. Highly recommended!

We booked a private cruise for 8 with Jason, which was seamlessly booked by email and phone. I am one that asks a million questions and Jason was patient and kind in all his responses. We were picked up at the cruise terminal and given a brief tour as we were taken to the beach where we would meet Jason. He and his wife Alex were so welcoming and accommodating. We hurried out to where the turtles were and Jason jumped in and fed them so they got nice and close. As we finished, two huge boats (with 100 +people on them) pulled up. I was so glad we didn't have to share the turtles with them! Then we sailed for an hour or so to another reef for some additional snorkeling. All the while, Alex kept us full of any fluids we desired. After the last snorkeling, Jason took us back to the beach where we were met by another taxi driver and taken back to town for an amazing lunch.
I can't stress enough how intimate and amazing the experience was. It was one of our favourite things all cruise and Jason and Alex went above and beyond. It was fun to meet them and spend some of our vacation getting to know them. If I am ever in Barbados again, I will book with them again.

Jason and Alex really made the trip special. It's one thing to go on a cruise with a large number of people and experience the island, but it felt way more intimate and special. Super friendly, great food and an amazing experience. Snorkeling with turtles, on the reef and hanging out in a beautiful cove. 100% would recommend.

I can't stress enough that Jason and Alex really made the trip special.

A friend found Shasa Catamaran and I am glad he did, they were awesome. We were told that this small/private tour would beat the larger cruise ships to the great spots and they did. With 8 of us we had a very fun and relaxing sail.

We all LOVED it and it was a highlight of our cruise, Shasa Catamaran is a must.

I was fortunate to sail on Shasa earlier this month for a sundown cruise and from start to finish constantly had my mind blown. The first question you're asked is "what would you like to do?" Something not often offered or catered for on journeys like this. We sailed down the west coast to snorkel with turtles which is always a cosmic experience and a must do on any trip to Barbados. But the intimacy and small nature of the group made the experience more special. We then snorkeled around a reef again with relative free reign to enjoy and take everything in at our leisure. Everything was impeccable. Wonderful drinks, music, conversation and overall experience leading into a Stella west coast sunset with nothing but the sails flapping. For any group it would be a perfect addition to make any holiday unforgettable.

We came to Barbados through Disney Magic's Southern Cruise. Our cruise FB page had a group of people who booked another turtle snorkeling trip. Their tour was full by the time we started planning. Their tour operator gave me Jason's name as a recommendation. What luck! We booked Jason's catamaran with several our our other FB friends. There was 8 of us total. We had a nice Van ride to the pick up point. Jason met us and took us to where we would see the turtles. There were 2 beautiful turtles that spent the afternoon with us. It was magical. Jason and his wife Alex were great. They made sure we had whatever we wanted to drink and eat. My husband is still talking about Alex's rum punch! The lunch they served us was fantastic. It was the best island meal we had. Without a doubt, give Jason and Alex a try. You won't regret it!!!
